East Texas sent three ensemble teams to this year’s conference. In order to participate in the ensemble program, each student took and passed a written music theory exam. Congratulations, students and teachers!
Directed by Stephanie Johnson, the elementary ensemble performed Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger.”
Directed by Chelsye Newland, the intermediate ensemble performed “Yesterday” by the Beatles.
Directed by Donna Calaway, the high school ensemble performed “Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho” arranged by Timothy Brown. Following their performance, six students received ensemble awards.
